While in FL we of course hit up the beach. Lauryn and I were even brave enough to wear our swimsuits and get in the water. Lauryn LOVED playing in the waves. Annie tried out the sand but curiosity quickly turned to dislike (see pictures below). We'll try again next time :)

Christmas 2009 - I
So, I know Christmas was over a month ago, but we had way too much fun in Florida not to blog about it. We had so much fun, in fact, that I'm going to spread the pictures over 3 blog posts. This first one is all about cousin time (and Grandma and Grandpa time), Lauryn's favorite thing about the vacation. She loved spending time with her cousins so much that she wasn't even that upset when we drove all the way to Disneyworld only for them to tell us they were full. She was just excited to go back and spend more time with her cousins. (I, on the other hand, was in tears and did not handle it quite so well.) Her favorite thing was that she got to sleep in the same room with all of them. Needless to say, it took a while for things to get settled down every night.

Home sweet home
As you may have noticed I haven't been much of a blogger lately. As with everyone, December was a pretty busy month for the Pahulu family. Right before Thanksgiving, we moved into our new house! After 4 1/2 years of marriage and 5 different rentals we are finally home owners. We spent the first 2 weeks of December unpacking and getting settled in and then packed up and flew to Florida to spend the next two weeks with Paul's family. Now we're back home and trying to decide which home improvement project we want to get started on first!
Our house is a rambler with a full basement on about 1/3 of an acre. It's about 15 years old and has some things that need some updating, like the flooring and fixtures. My favorite features are the fenced back yard, the fireplaces, and the hot tub (which we haven't started up yet). It was pretty hard finding a house that fit both Paul's and my taste. He wanted a fixer upper with investment potential and I wanted something we could be happy in right now. When we found this one we knew it was the one. I'll post a few pictues, but I'll post more once we've done some of our projects and when everything is all unpacked and organized.

The first thing I did when we moved in was take down all the curtains. So much better without them. This is the living room when you first come in.
Kitchen/dining room area, door to the back yard, stairs to the basement. Backyard view from the dining room.
