Just a little cuteness

Here's a little of what we've been doing lately:

Waiting for waffles

Making marshmallow snowmen for FHE

Looking cute for church

and even giving a talk.
Being happy...

and being sad.

And just in case you were wondering, Annie is still crazying it, for instance...

No big deal, she's just tearing up pieces of wrapping paper and sticking them down her diaper.

Living room reveal

One year ago we were packing up our townehouse and getting ready to close on our home. Here we are a year later and we have finished a good portion of the upstairs. We are done with everything except the master bedroom and the bathrooms. So here is the before and after for the living room. We painted, replaced the carpet with hardwood, took out all the floor tile and replace the fireplace surround with slate. And when I say we, I mean about 25% me and 75% Paul. One thing you can't see in this before picture is the blinds, which were metal and the same forest green as the carpet (just really lovely as you can imagine). Also, the picture doesn't do justice to the old tile (marbled with forest green) and the forest green grout. We'll get some pictures up of the rest soon!

Halloween - 2 weeks later

"What's this?", you say, "the third blog post in two weeks?". Yes, yes it is. We finally got our computer fixed so I have been able to do a little catch up. Here are our Halloween pictures. We had a trunk or treat at church and then went trick or treating on the weekend. Lauryn decided to mix it up a little bit and wore a Snow White costume when we went to a Halloween party at the Aquarium. Thanks to Grandma Mary for the awesome pirate costumes.

When we went neighborhood trick or treating the girls were so funny. We went with some friends and Lauryn really got into the whole running from house to house thing thanks to the older kids we were with. About half way through her bucket apparently got too heavy for her so I had to carry it. I also happened to be carrying Annie, since I had to almost run to keep up with Lauryn and her friends. As opposed to her sister, Annie would not let go of her bucket no matter how full it got. I tried to pry it out of her death grip when it got so heavy she was literally leaning over but she would not have it. Unfortunately, she could only protect it from me for so long and once she went to bed (and over the next week) I ended up eating pretty much all of it.

Lauryn's "mean pirate" face.

Arrrrrgggg, the booty.
I let Annie play with her candy thinking she wouldn't be able to open any. She showed me and ate half a tootsie roll, wrapper on.

Pahulus in the house

We had so much fun when Paul's family came to visit. We went to a farm, toured a candy factory, made and decorated sugar cookies, had a pumpkin carving contest, make pumpkin rolls, watched movies, went to a corn maze, went shopping, ate too much food and stayed up way too late. We LOVED having them here and already missed them about 2 minutes after they left.

Our favorite 4 year old

Lauryn turned 4 on Oct. 17. It was a bit of a chaotic time, but we managed to have some major celebrating nonetheless. The Thursday before her birthday I took her into the Dr. because she wasn't feeling well and we ended up taking the ambulance to the hospital where she stayed for 2 nights. We went straight from checking her out of the hospital to pick up Paul's mom, sister, and brother at the airport.
Since her birthday was on a Sunday, we went to Incredible Pizza Saturday night. (It's like Chuck E. Cheese x 10). Then on Sunday we had a family party where we played games, had dinner, opened presents and had cake. Lauryn was a pretty happy girl, especially to be out of the hospital in time for her birthday and to have Grandma, Aunt Kalo, and Uncle Shiblon and Uncle Key here to celebrate with her.

ps - I know there are a lot of pictures of the rainbow cake, but I was really proud of it and it was quite the labor of love to make (I was up until 3 am Saturday night after two nights of very little sleep). I followed the instructions from this site: http://www.howdoesshe.com/6-layer-cake-tips

pps - In case you were wondering, Lauryn was in the hospital because she has asthma (which we didn't know). She's on a preventative medicine now, so hopefully it will make life better and she can breathe a little easier now :)

cra·zy -[krey-zee]

We have come up with a new term at our house: crazy. You might think you already know this word, but at our house it is neither a noun nor an adjective, it is a verb: to crazy. This word was created by Lauryn, inspired by Annie. The definition: to create a general state of chaos, or basically to do the complete opposite of what someone wants you to do. Let me give you some examples:
Q: How did all these (choose one: toys, coupons, newspapers, clean clothes, pots and pans) get spread over every inch of the house?
A: Annie crazied them.

Q: How did my cell phone get dropped in this cup of water?
A: Annie crazied it in there.

Q: Lauryn, why are you flipping out?
A: Annie is crazying my markers.

Q: How did this dish towel get into the sock drawer?
A: Annie crazied it.

Q: How did this book get into the silverware drawer?
A: Annie crazied it.

Q: Lauryn, how did 15 pairs of your panties get on Annie's arms?
A: She crazied them on.

Q: How did this bowl of guacamole that I just made get dumped all over the floor?
A: Annie climbed up onto the counter and crazied it.

Yes, Annie is one wild, biting, jumping, snuggly and crazy girl. She keeps us on our toes, and we love her little guts.

Summing up summer

I have been a total slacker in the blog department. But it isn't totally my fault. Our computer has been acting up and even now I am running the risk of it spontaneously shutting down on me. But I decided to take the risk to post the best pictures from our summer. They are a little bit in reverse order, but at least they're here :). I won't narrate the pictures, but here is a little summary of what we did this summer and you can try to find the pictures to match. Paul and I both celebrated our birthdays (lots of cake and presents), the girls and I went to Emmett for the Cherry Festival (lots of rides and cousin time), we had the Farnsworth reunion (river rafting, Starlight mountain theater, hot springs, even more cousin time), we attended our first ever Draper days (Collin Raye concert, bouncy houses and slides, parade with candy galore), I trained all summer and ran my marathon (lots of hills and sweat and pain), and we've finished up the summer with Lauryn taking swimming lessons (lots of water up the nose) and with us upgrading to a new vehicle (lots of seats). In between all of that we played in the backyard, played inside, and did some other fun stuff as well as worked on the house a lot inside and out (pics to come?). Yes, friends, the summer of 2010 has been a good one.
